 Despite the  defeat, St. Francis DeSales saw an underclassman step up: sophomore  Gabby Winkler  had eight  digs and five  aces. Winkler is  on a roll when it comes to  aces, as she's  now  served two or more in each of the last five games she's  played.

The  win was  the eighth in a row for Bloom-Carroll, bringing their record up to 24-1. As for St. Francis DeSales,  the  loss snapped their winning streak at four matches  and leaves them with a 17-8 record.
