SACRAMENTO, Calif. - After three lead changes,
Jesuit (Carmichael, Calif.) took the lead for good when
Beau Bisharat ran for a touchdown with 2:00 remaining in the second quarter and held on to defeat
Sheldon (Sacramento, Calif.) 69-40 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Bisharat in the second quarter, the Marauders were up 34-27 at the half.
Jesuit expanded its lead to 21 points entering the fourth quarter. JHS scored three times in the third, including once on a
Ben Parietti touchdown run.
Jason Elenberger and Bisharat ran for a bunch of touchdowns for the Huskies. Elenberger scored four touchdowns on the ground and Bisharat added three as well.
A 38-13 Jesuit victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The victory was a step in the right direction for the Marauders, who were coming off a 28-23 defeat at the hands of Pleasant Grove in its previous game. The win broke Jesuit's two-game losing streak. The loss was the fourth in a row for Sheldon.
Sheldon (3-6) will play a Delta River League game against Ponderosa next week, while Jesuit (7-2) will take on Oak Ridge also in a Delta River League game.
