Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Johnson-Brock Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday.
Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer struggled with assists on Tuesday (Tri County had 14 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer was outmatched by Tri County at home and fell 58-28. While losing is never fun, Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 250th, while Tri County is ranked 40th).
Despite the loss, Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer got a solid performance out of Hunter Bohling, who scored six points along with five assists and three steals.
Meanwhile, Johnson-Brock put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They secured a 47-42 W over Freeman.
Brody Koehler and Casen Dalinghaus were among the main playmakers for Johnson-Brock as the former scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals and the latter scored 19 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Camden Dalinghaus, who scored six points.
Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season. As for Johnson-Brock, their win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-0.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 22.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Johnson-Brock struggles in that department as they've been averaging 25.4 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer was dealt a bruising 73-37 defeat at the hands of Johnson-Brock in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer was down 44-20.
