After a string of six wins, the Central Christian Saints's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 57-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tabernacle. While losing is never fun, Central Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 250th, while Tabernacle is ranked 70th).
Despite the loss, Central Christian still got an impressive performance from Jarrod Harmon, who scored 23 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Harmon is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Gabe Gregory, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Central Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Tabernacle, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with that win, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season.
Central Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Tuscaloosa Home Educators. Tabernacle won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Life Christian Academy at 3:30 p.m. on December 9th. Life Christian Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
