The Juniata Valley Hornets waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They came out on top against Everett by a score of 73-62. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Leading Juniata Valley to victory were Ronal Chavez and Connor Robinson. Chavez scored 19 points along with three steals, while Robinson almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. Jett Rand was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Juniata Valley has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Everett, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Juniata Valley will square off against the Black Knights/Damsels at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Moshannon Valley is out to stop a seven-game streak of losses at home. As for Everett, they will head out on the road to take on the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northern Bedford County has now lost 15 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8.
