Baseball Recap: Charlestown Has No Trouble Against Southwestern

Charlestown lost to Southwestern back in March of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Pirates were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Rebels. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pirates.

Garret Titzer tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lex Rose, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Christian Grayson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Charlestown's record is now 2-0. As for Southwestern, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Charlestown will host Henryville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Southwestern, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Austin at 5:00 p.m.
