This season hasn't been kind to the Shandon Outlaws, who are still winless after their seventh game. They took a serious blow against Alpaugh on Tuesday, falling 63-22. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Shandon in their matchups with Alpaugh: they've now lost four in a row.
Alpaugh's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Luis Lopez led the charge by scoring ten points along with six rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lopez has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jesse Alcazar, who scored five points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Shandon bumped their record down to 0-7 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.3 points per game. As for Alpaugh, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-4.
Shandon will head out on the road to challenge Coast Union at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Coast Union has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 5. As for Alpaugh, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Kings Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. Kings Christian is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 15 games.
