Softball Recap: Mays Adds Another Dominant Win to Their Ledger

Mays had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Morrow on Saturday. The Raiders put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 21-13 victory. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won four games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Mays got a big performance out of Giselle Turner, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances while logging 3 stolen bases, 3 runs, and 2 walks. The game marked Turner's second in a row with at least three stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Kyra Tabor, who went 2-for-3 while logging 2 stolen bases, 2 RBI, and 2 runs.

Mays took advantage of their speed and finished the game with 19 stolen bases. They have not posted that many stolen bases since the 12th, when they snagged 22.

Mays has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That run has powered them to a 5-4 record this season. Those wins were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.6 runs over those games. As for Morrow, they have been struggling this season as they've lost six of their first seven contests. That leaves them at a 1-6 record this season.

Coincidentally, Mays and Morrow will both be playing Westlake the next time they take the field. The Mustangs will head out to face the Lions at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Raiders will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
