Bells is 3-0 against Lone Oak since October of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Bells Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Lone Oak Buffaloes at 7:30 p.m. Bells will be strutting in after a victory while Lone Oak will be coming in after a loss.
Bells stacked a fourth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They breezed by Howe at home to the tune of 63-14. Given Bells' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 284th, while Howe is ranked 819th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Easton Helgren, who rushed for 184 yards and four touchdowns on only eight carries. Helgren really tore up the turf during one magnificent 89-yard run. Hayden Allen and his 93 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Bells' victory.
Meanwhile, Lone Oak fell victim to Gunter's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Tigers, falling 75-0. Having soared to a lofty 44 points in the game before, Lone Oak couldn't push the score so high this time.
Bells' victory was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 6-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points per game. As for Lone Oak, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Bells against Lone Oak in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 78-26 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bells since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
