The Hernando Tigers will challenge the George County Rebels at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
George County will be up against a hot Hernando team: the squad just extended their winning streak to 20. The Tigers were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over Oxford on Tuesday. 11 seems to be a good number for the Tigers as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Kate Johnson looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Molly Anderson was a standout: she scored two runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Jayla Sites was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.
Hernando kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, George County came tearing into Thursday's matchup with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Bearcats 12-2.
Kyleigh Howell was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Aryana Dixon, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4.
Hernando pushed their record up to 20-0 with the win, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for George County, their win bumped their record up to 20-1.
Both Hernando and George County just can't seem to miss. The Tigers have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.7 hits per game. However, it's not like George County struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Hernando skirted past George County 6-5 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rebels turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
