Tahoka is 0-10 against the Roughnecks since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Tahoka Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Sundown Roughnecks at 6:15 p.m.
After a string of four wins, Tahoka's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. The game between them and New Home wasn't particularly close, with Tahoka falling 37-23. Tahoka has not had much luck with the Leopards recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Meanwhile, Sundown can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They blew past Seagraves 82-31 at home. The win was just what Sundown needed coming off of a 54-31 defeat in their prior game.
Aria Hogan and Allie McCormick were among the main playmakers for Sundown as the former scored 18 points along with five steals and three blocks and the latter dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten assists. Hogan hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Hannah Holdman, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Tahoka's loss dropped their record down to 19-11. As for Sundown, their victory bumped their record up to 16-14.
Tahoka couldn't quite finish off the Roughnecks in their previous meeting back in January and fell 37-35. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of McCormick, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten steals. Now that Tahoka knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
