The Edgewood Academy Wildcats entered their tilt with the Lee-Scott Academy Warriors with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Edgewood Academy also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2023.
Edgewood Academy had a senior duo take command as Madison Martin dropped a double-double on 20 points and 16 rebounds and Lindsey Brown scored 20 points along with six assists and six steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Brown has scored at least a third of Edgewood Academy's points. Lexie Smith was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five steals.
When it comes to explaining why Lee-Scott Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Mary kathryn Harris. Despite the final result, she scored 19 points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Clarke Ivatt, who scored six points.
Edgewood Academy pushed their record up to 19-3 with that victory, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.6 points per game. Edgewood Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Hooper Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th. As for Lee-Scott Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Glenwood at 6:00 p.m. Glenwood knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Lee-Scott Academy likes a good challenge.
