Frontier School of Excellence lost against Ozanam back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Frontier School of Excellence fell just short of Ozanam by a score of 44-41. Frontier School of Excellence has struggled against Ozanam recently, as their game on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Merwis Ramirez Rodriguez and Henry Uti certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Ramirez Rodriguez scored 14 points, while Uti scored 12 points. The matchup was Ramirez Rodriguez's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jakeem Davis, who scored six points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ozanam to victory, but perhaps none more so than A.W. Poke, who scored eight points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Those seven steals set a new season-high mark for him. Talan Olmstead was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds.
Frontier School of Excellence's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Ozanam, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-5.
Frontier School of Excellence will be home for the holidays to greet Frontier STEM at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Frontier STEM will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 542nd, while Frontier School of Excellence is ranked 236th). Ozanam will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Independence Home School at 4:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
