The Angola Hornets will challenge the Clinton Redskins at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Angola will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
On Thursday, Angola made easy work of Central Noble and carried off an 18-2 win. Considering the Hornets have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Landen Bussard made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Myles Steury was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Garrett Sorgen was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and two runs.
Meanwhile, Clinton earned a 7-2 victory over Madison on Thursday.
The team relied heavily on Jaxon Phillip, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dacari Garrison, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
Clinton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.
Angola's record now sits at 16-4. As for Clinton, their record is now 10-11.
Angola was able to grind out a solid win over Clinton in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, winning 8-4. Do the Hornets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Redskins turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
