Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Bandys

Bandys won the last time they faced North Iredell and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Bandys Trojans came out on top against the North Iredell Raiders by a score of 7-2. Winning may never get old, but the Trojans sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Haven Helton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Paige Barrymore, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Alexander, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

The victory got Bandys back to even at 5-5. As for North Iredell, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bandys will host West Caldwell at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. West Caldwell's pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so Bandys' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for North Iredell, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hickory at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hickory is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.
