Basketball Recap: Clinton Piles Up the Points Against High Point Academy

Clinton won the last time they faced High Point Academy and things went their way on Monday too. The Red Devils blew past the Grizzlies, posting a 62-25 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Red Devils.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Clinton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mylayja Thompson, who shot 78% from the field to rack up 15 points in addition to seven steals and five boards. Those 78% field goal percentage gave Thompson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Allensen Cook, who went 5-for-9 on her way to 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Clinton's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for High Point Academy, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Clinton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 60-45 win against Nation Ford on the 25th. As for High Point Academy, they have also already played their next contest, a 56-30 loss against Catawba Ridge on the 25th.
