The Lakeside Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 58-25 defeat at the hands of Bennington. Lakeside has not had much luck with Bennington recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Lakeside's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lauren Brummet, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. The contest was Brummet's fifth in a row with at least ten points.
Lakeside's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-4. As for Bennington, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Lakeside will be home for the holidays to greet Stockton on Friday. Stockton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lakeside in Kansas (Stockton is ranked 100th, while Lakeside is ranked 273rd). As for Bennington, they will head out on the road to face off against Cheney at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cheney will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
