Basketball Game Preview: Little River Redskins vs. Centre Cougars

Little River is 8-2 against Centre since January of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Little River Redskins will head out on the road to square off against the Centre Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Little River is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.9 points per game this season.

Little River will head into Tuesday's matchup hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big last Monday (they won by 27) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Solomon, sneaking past 37-34.

Jaxson Konen continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 for 15 on his way to 13 points in addition to six steals and five boards. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jaren Garrison, who posted 12 points and five rebounds.

Little River smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 15 offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Centre beat Goessel 31-26 on Tuesday.

Little River's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Centre, their record now sits at 4-7.

Everything came up roses for Little River against Centre in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 62-35 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Little River since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
