Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Tampa Prep Terrapins walked away with it. They never let the Buccaneers onto the board and left with a 6-0 win on Friday. The result was nothing new for Tampa Prep, who have now won 12 contests by three goals or more so far this season.
They hit Berkeley Prep with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Asher Jones (2),
Danny Alvarez (2),
Luka Zujovic, and
Ezekial Van Heyst.
The win was the fourth in a row for Tampa Prep, bringing their record for this year to 16-1-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those four matches. As for Berkeley Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7-4.
Tampa Prep will head out on the road to challenge Lake Highland Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lake Highland Prep will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 39th, while Tampa Prep is ranked fourth). Berkeley Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
