After each having a week off, The McIntosh County Academy Buccaneers and the Clinch County Panthers will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 7:30 p.m. on November 10th. McIntosh County Academy is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
McIntosh County Academy fell victim to Portal's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Panthers 27-0. McIntosh County Academy was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Meanwhile, Clinch County entered their tilt with Charlton County with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Clinch County blew past Charlton County 31-6. Considering Clinch County has won six contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Jeremy Bell and Aaron Bryant were among the main playmakers for Clinch County as the former gained 152 total yards and two touchdowns and the latter rushed for 185 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. Bryant was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 57 yards.
Portal's win bumped their season record to 6-3 while McIntosh County Academy's defeat dropped theirs to 4-6.
McIntosh County Academy and Clinch County were almost perfectly matched up in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, but McIntosh County Academy suffered an agonizing 17-16 loss. Can McIntosh County Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
