4A Region 1 recap November 5, 2013
Fans got a thrill when JT Loving and Cameron Montgomery connected against Pontotoc. The connection went for 83 yards, the longest such play in 4A Region 1 this season.
Corinth added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Amory, 45-15. The victory was the ninth in a row for the Warriors.
Jackson Haines put up the best numbers through the air as Tishomingo County lost to Itawamba Agricultural. He finished with a total of 10 completions for 127 yards and 1 touchdown. Haines' favorite target this week was Brannon Gamble, who caught 4 passes for 67 yards.
Tishomingo County's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Braves feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Blake Hawkins has thrown for 1,330 yards and 16 touchdowns this season, while Gamble has 35 catches for 758 yards.
The Braves lost to the Indians 46-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Haines was a bright spot for Tishomingo County, as he ran for 17 yards in the loss.
