On Thursday, Hickory Christian Academy got the win against North Hills Christian by a conclusive 3-0.

Kamryn Sain had a dynamite game, getting eight aces and seven digs. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (four).
They weren't the only good servers: Hickory Christian Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 21 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Gaston Christian posted their closest win since August 8th on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Westminster Catawba Christian 3-2.
If you add up the scores from across all five sets (109-105) Gaston Christian actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-21, 15-25, 25-23, 17-15.
Hickory Christian Academy better focus on containing Hayden Parsons and Ava Russell as the pair were huge in Gaston Christian's win. Parsons had 13 digs and three aces, while Russell had 11 digs. Bailey Knox also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
Hickory Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Gaston Christian, their win bumped their record up to 13-9.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's matchup: Hickory Christian Academy has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 11.4 aces per game. However, it's not like Gaston Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.8 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
