Elmwood-Murdock and Weeping Water are an even 4-4 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The Knights will head out on the road to take on the Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Weeping Water will be up against a hot Elmwood-Murdock team: the squad just extended their winning streak to five. The Knights took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 66-18 win over Cedar Bluffs. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska football rankings (they are ranked 24th, while the Wildcats are ranked 134th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Dashiell Coleman continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 101 yards and a pair of TDs on only seven carries, while also throwing for 128 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 passes. What's more, he racked up 134.7 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Brody Marsh was another key player, rushing for 88 yards and a pair of scores on only six carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Elmwood-Murdock was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 212 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 157 rushing yards in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, after only six points in their last game, Weeping Water made sure to put some points up on the board against Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer on Friday. The Indians blew past the Titans 60-0. The victory continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won four in a row.
Elmwood-Murdock better focus on containing Luke Harms and Tucker Bickford as the pair were huge in Weeping Water's win. Harms gained 182 total yards and five touchdowns, while Bickford rushed for 70 yards and three touchdowns. Harms also punched in four rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Weeping Water is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.
Weeping Water didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jace Mcgill and Kolby Nash. Mcgill is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least six every time he's taken the field this season.
Elmwood-Murdock's record is now 6-1. As for Weeping Water, their record now sits at 5-2.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Elmwood-Murdock has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 275.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Weeping Water struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 283.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Elmwood-Murdock couldn't quite get it done against Weeping Water in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 as they fell 16-6. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Harms, who rushed for 83 yards and a pair of TDs on only 11 carries. Now that the Knights know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
