Baseball Recap: Colorado Academy Has No Trouble Against Dawson School

While Colorado Academy put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Dawson School. Colorado Academy put the hurt on Dawson School with a sharp 18-0 victory. Colorado Academy might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by six runs or more this season.

Charlie Rakowski was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Rakowski was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Liam Driver was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jordan Reiter, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Colorado Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .649. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Colorado Academy's record is now 18-4. As for Dawson School, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Colorado Academy will face off against Berthoud at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Dawson School, they will square off against Byers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season.
