The Ragsdale Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 63-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Page. While losing is never fun, Ragsdale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 462nd, while the Pirates are ranked 138th).
When it comes to explaining why Ragsdale lost, one person who can't be blamed is KJ Burke. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points along with six rebounds. Burke is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 18 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Carter, who scored eight points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Ragsdale struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-5) when they can't control their own glass like that.
Ragsdale's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Page, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-8.
Ragsdale will head out on the road to challenge the Whirlies at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Grimsley's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 13 matchups. As for Page, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd.
