The Grand Traverse Academy Mustangs won the last time they faced the Ellsworth Lancers, and things went their way on Monday too. Grand Traverse Academy snuck past Ellsworth with a 37-32 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Grand Traverse Academy.
Leading Grand Traverse Academy to victory were Breanna Graczyk and Megan Pavwoski. Graczyk scored six points along with eight rebounds and four steals, while Pavwoski dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Pavwoski is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Alleah Dix, who scored six points.
Grand Traverse Academy pushed their record up to 9-7 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Ellsworth, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grand Traverse Academy will square off against Cadillac Heritage Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Grand Traverse Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Monday. As for Ellsworth, they will head out on the road to face off against North Michigan Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Michigan (Ellsworth is ranked 389th, while North Michigan Christian Academy is ranked 414th).
