The Westside Seminoles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They blew past Rutland, posting a 68-10 win at home. That looming 68-10 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Westside yet this season.
Westside found their leader in underclassman Taylor Talton, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 steals. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Destiny Spencer, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
Westside's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-8. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Rutland, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.
Westside will be playing at home against Baldwin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Baldwin's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games. Rutland will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Southwest at 6:00 p.m. on January 5th. Southwest has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 0-3 during that stretch of close contests.
