The Canton South Wildcats had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victor by a 53-33 margin over Buchtel. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Canton South also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Among those leading the charge was Arayiah Hoover, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Summer Hastings-Peterson, who scored 15 points along with 6 rebounds.
Canton South's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Buchtel, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Canton South will take on Northwest at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Buchtel, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Roosevelt at 7:00 p.m.
