The Slocomb Red Tops will head out on the road to take on the Ashford Yellowjackets at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Ashford took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Slocomb, who comes in off a win.

Meanwhile, Ashford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell just short of Geneva by a score of 3-2. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, Ashford couldn't push the score so high this time.
Ashford also got a good showing from Baylee Brock, who tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.
On the hitting side, Amiyah Lewis made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with a home run. Shelby Pate was another key contributor, going 1-for-1 with a double and an RBI.
Slocomb is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. As for Ashford, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-13.
