Softball Recap: Berean Christian Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Berean Christian had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 16-5 margin over the Concord Bears. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Leila Rhoads was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was LeAna Cimarra, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Berean Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Concord only managed five hits.

Berean Christian pushed their record up to 14-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Concord, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.

Looking ahead, Berean Christian will welcome Mt. Diablo at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Concord, they will challenge Las Lomas at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bears will need to watch out since the Knights have now posted at least ten runs in their last five contests.
