The Vestaburg Wolverines's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by St. Louis at home and fell 62-20. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Vestaburg has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Vestaburg had strong showings from Lily Johnston, who scored nine points, and Megan Beetley, who scored six points. That was a full 45% of Vestaburg's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Vestaburg's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 4-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.7 points per game. As for St. Louis, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.
Vestaburg will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Carson City-Crystal at 7:00 p.m. Carson City-Crystal comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for St. Louis, they will head out on the road to challenge Nouvel Catholic Central at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Nouvel Catholic Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 585th, while St. Louis is ranked 145th).
