Williams Valley can now show off three landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They really took it to Shenandoah Valley for the full four quarters, racking up a 54-0 victory on the road. Given Williams Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 231st, while Shenandoah Valley is ranked 509th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Williams Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alex Achenbach, who rushed for 237 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.1 yards per carry. Achenbach is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last nine games he's played. Another player making a difference was Marcus Shoop, who rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Tri-Valley beat Marian Catholic 16-6 on Friday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tri-Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cole Gemberling, who rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown.
Williams Valley is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. As for Tri-Valley, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's game: Williams Valley has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 294.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Tri-Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 180.6 per game. It's looking like Friday's matchup might have some serious battles in the trenches.
