It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Firebaugh Eagles can now relate to. They fell just short of Liberty by a score of 14-12. Firebaugh has struggled against Liberty recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Firebaugh's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Anthony Fernandez, who gained 140 total yards. Arren Alaniz was in the mix too, providing Firebaugh with two touchdowns.
Firebaugh now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Liberty, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Firebaugh does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Liberty will be playing at home against Chavez at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
