Chaparral came out on top against Hatch Valley on Friday thanks in part to Israel Nieto's efforts. Nieto threw for 101 yards and one TD while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushed for 54 yards on only seven carries. The effort marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in September of 2024.

Nieto and Chaparral will square off against Santa Teresa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
