The Moberly Spartans suffered their biggest loss since December 7, 2023 on Thursday. They suffered a tough 69-47 loss at the hands of Eugene. While losing is never fun, Moberly can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 219th, while Eugene is ranked 30th).
When it comes to explaining why Moberly lost, one person who can't be blamed is Bj Godreau. Despite the final result, he scored ten points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Doubrava, who scored six points.
Moberly's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Eugene, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-2.
Moberly will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Fulton at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. As for Eugene, they will be playing at home against Russellville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
