Cross Creek is 0-3 against Morgan County since November of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on October 27th. After each having a week off, the pair will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th. Cross Creek will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 375th, while Morgan County is ranked 116th).
Last Friday, Cross Creek beat Salem 18-6.
Cross Creek relied on the efforts of Brandon Wallace, who threw for 175 yards and three touchdowns, and Cameron Nixon, who picked up 160 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Cross Creek's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. Leading the way was Nasan Houston and his 4.5 sacks.
Meanwhile, Morgan County had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.4 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 35-6 victory over Hephzibah. The result was nothing new for Morgan County, who have now won five matchups by 29 points or more so far this season.
It was another big night for Jaydon Dorsey, who rushed for 143 yards and two touchdowns. Dorsey is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last four games he's played.
Cross Creek now has a winning record of 4-3. Morgan County has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in seven of their first eight games, giving them a 7-1 record.
Cross Creek was taken down by Morgan County 49-6 in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Can Cross Creek avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
