It was a good run, but the Vail Christian Saints unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They were beaten by Plateau Valley 68-33. Vail Christian has struggled against the Cowboys recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Saints players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Wyatt Fisher, who scored nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Pryor, who scored nine points.
Jack Vig continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Plateau Valley, scoring 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Colter Ralston, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Vail Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Plateau Valley, they pushed their record up to 11-1 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.
Vail Christian will head out on the road to square off against the Bobcats at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Custer County is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Plateau Valley, they will be playing at home against the Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rangely will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 297th, while the Cowboys are ranked 53rd).
