Video: Texas commit Jake Smith goes off, again See the Notre Dame Prep standout go for six scores as Saints erase 27-13 second-half deficit.
On Friday, the Saints do-everything ran for 237 yards on 16 carries, caught eight passes for 117 yards, ran a 75-yard kickoff back for one of his six scores as Notre Dame Prep erased a 27-13 second-half deficit for a 41-27 win over Sunnyslope (Phoenix).
The 6-foot-1, 189-pound Smith has 26 carries for 320 yards rushing and 247 yards receiving on 13 catches through two games this season. He has 11 touchdowns on the young season — four rushing touchdowns with a long of 93 yards, six receiving scores with a long of 70 and the kick return. He's a big-play machine with six of his scores going for 56 yards or longer.
The 4-star future Longhorn plays a variety of roles for the Saints, lining up in the backfield and at wideout on offense, while he returns kicks and punts on special teams.
The well-rounded Smith also serves as the team's punter where he's averaging 42.2 yards per kick (a long of 62) after six punts. If that weren't enough, Smith is also a standout lacrosse player for the Notre Dame Prep, the top program in Arizona.
