The match between Marble Falls and Fort Bend Elkins wasn't particularly close, with Marble Falls falling 39-21. While losing is never fun, Marble Falls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1194th, while Fort Bend Elkins is ranked 536th).
Despite the loss, Marble Falls still got an impressive performance from Lexie Edwards, who scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds. Edwards scored a full 57.1% of Marble Falls' points, the tenth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Leading Fort Bend Elkins to victory were Maddie Rhea and Cheyenne Trusclair. Rhea scored 14 points, while Trusclair scored 14 points.
Marble Falls' loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Fort Bend Elkins, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season.
Marble Falls' road trip will continue as they head out to face Davenport at 6:40 p.m. on December 1st. As for Fort Bend Elkins, they will square off against Village at 6:40 p.m. on Friday. Village will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
