Pacific is 7-1 against Windsor since May of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Indians will head out to square off against the Owls at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Pacific has five straight victories, Windsor has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Pacific lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Northwest, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's game. The Indians were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Lions on Tuesday. Give the Indians' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.
Not much got past Bennett Parker, who gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Northwest off the board. Parker has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Colton Kossuth was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Grant Kossuth, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Windsor's offense. They fell just short of Hillsboro by a score of 1-0 on Friday.
Windsor saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Haegele, who went 2-for-4 with one double.
Pacific's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Windsor, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-18.
Windsor's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Pacific has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .435. It's a different story for Windsor, though, as they've only averaged .363. Will they be able to contain Pacific's hitters?
Everything went Pacific's way against Windsor when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Pacific made off with a 12-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
