The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Veritas Christian in their matchups with Wichita Defenders HomeSchool: they've now lost four in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Veritas Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Gavin Oberzan. Despite the final result, he scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Josh Nadvornik was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Veritas Christian bumped their record down to 4-9 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Wichita Defenders HomeSchool, their victory bumped their record up to 4-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Veritas Christian and Kansas School for the Deaf will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Kansas School for the Deaf is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Wichita Defenders HomeSchool, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Mary's Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
