Football Recap: Alex Gonzalez-Lopez and Santiago Lopez Lead the Defense for New Mexico School for the Deaf Win

Oklahoma School for the Deaf came into Saturday's game looking for another win against New Mexico School for the Deaf, but Santiago Lopez wouldn't allow it. The Roadrunners took down the Bison 63-45 on Saturday thanks in part to Lopez, who picked up 113 receiving yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 67 yards and a pair of scores on only six carries. Lopez is also crushing it when it comes to rushing touchdowns: he's punched in at least two every time he's taken the field this season.

One reason for the win was New Mexico School for the Deaf's imposing defensive line, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Alex Gonzalez-Lopez and Lopez, who racked up all four sacks between them.

The victory got New Mexico School for the Deaf back to even at 2-2. As for Oklahoma School for the Deaf, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Mexico School for the Deaf will challenge Grady at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Roadrunners will need to watch out since the Bronchos have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Oklahoma School for the Deaf, they will face off against California School for the Deaf at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
