Rolesville is 1-9 against Wake Forest since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. Rolesville will welcome Wake Forest at 4:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Rolesville is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Knightdale a 16-0 shutout on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won six in a row.
Kaitlyn Curphey was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Curphey was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.

In other batting news, Sadie Smith was incredible, scoring a run and stealing five bases while going 3-for-3. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gianna D'Antonio, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-2.
Rolesville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Wake Forest put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Heritage 8-0. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Not much got past Jil Livengood, who gave up just a hit and racked up 17 Ks to keep Heritage off the board. Livengood has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Donovan Onorato, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Abbey Lauer, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Wake Forest's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-0. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Rolesville, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-9.
Rolesville's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's matchup. Rolesville has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Wake Forest, though, as they've been averaging only 0.7 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Rolesville continue to outrun the ball?
Rolesville came up short against Wake Forest when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 3-0. Can Rolesville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
