The Highland Springs Springers stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They blew past Hermitage, posting a 80-47 victory on the road. The win was nothing new for Highland Springs as they're now sitting on nine straight.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Highland Springs to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brianna Shelton, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ah'kiyah Pye, who scored 18 points.
Despite the loss, Hermitage still got an impressive performance from Breyona Robinson, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Another player making a difference was Jayda Thomas, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Highland Springs' win was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.1 points per game. As for Hermitage, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Highland Springs won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Armstrong will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 246th, while the Springers are ranked 19th). As for Hermitage, they will be playing at home against the Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
