Towson is 0-6 against Parkville since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Towson Generals will head out on the road to take on the Parkville Knights at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully Towson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Wednesday.
Towson unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak. They took a 70-53 bruising from Kenwood. Towson has not had much luck with Kenwood recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Loss or not, Towson got some senior leadership from Quint Fryer who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and five assists and Braden Renner who scored 13 points. Fryer continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.
Towson struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Parkville strolled past Milford Mill Academy with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 64-46. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Parkville.
Parkville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Anthony Council led the charge by scoring ten points along with six steals and five rebounds. Council hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyliek Howard, who scored 16 points along with three steals.
Towson's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Parkville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.
Wednesday's game is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Towson have been dynamite from deep this season, having drained 39.9% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Parkville struggles in that department as they've nailed 40.7% of their threes per game this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Towson was dealt a bruising 83-40 loss at the hands of Parkville in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Towson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
