Even though the Fletcher Senators have not done well against the Sandalwood Saints recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Fletcher strolled past Sandalwood with points to spare, taking the game 46-28. That's two games straight that Fletcher has won by exactly 18 points.
Fletcher's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mattie Gilliam, who scored 11 points. Reagan Slaveski was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two steals and two blocks.
Despite the defeat, Sandalwood saw an underclassman step up: Cameron Craw scored nine points along with six rebounds and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Eva George, who scored three points.
Fletcher has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Sandalwood, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-17.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fletcher will take on Trinity Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Trinity Christian Academy has struggled recently with five defeats in a row, while Fletcher will arrive with three straight victories. As for Sandalwood, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Bartram Trail at 6:30 p.m. Bartram Trail has now lost 13 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 21.
