Gatewood can now show off 13 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They really took it to Piedmont Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 84-52 win on the road. With Gatewood ahead 49-23 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Matt Allen continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 11-for-20 from downtown and almost dropping a double-double on 47 points and nine steals. Allen is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 19 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Callaway, who scored eight points along with 16 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Augusta Prep Day entered their tilt with the Spartans with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Augusta Prep Day put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 58-36 win on Friday.
Gatewood is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-2 record this season. As for Augusta Prep Day, they pushed their record up to 13-6 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Everything came up roses for Gatewood against the Cavaliers when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 74-44 victory. With Gatewood ahead 37-15 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
