Two dominant in Creed Lopez and Elijah Hysten are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. Training Center Christian the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Midland Adventist Academy Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on January 22nd. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Training Center Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Chesterton Academy of St. Philip Neri, taking the game 49-42.
Training Center Christian found their leader in underclassman Lopez, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lopez has scored all season. Alex Bryan was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Meanwhile, Midland Adventist Academy blew past Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy, posting a 57-18 victory at home. That looming 57-18 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Midland Adventist Academy yet this season.
Training Center Christian's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Midland Adventist Academy, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3.
Things could have been worse for Training Center Christian, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 62-47 loss to Midland Adventist Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Training Center Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
