Poway took a hard 65-50 fall against Mt. Carmel on Tuesday. Poway's loss continues a unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Mt. Carmel found their leader in underclassman Makai Orje, who scored 19 points along with 6 assists and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gianni Bernabe, who scored 17 points along with 3 steals.
Poway's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Mt. Carmel, they pushed their record up to 2-5 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Poway will take on Clairemont at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Clairemont's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Mt. Carmel, they will head out on the road to face off against Rancho Bernardo at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
