Sadly, the Minarets Mustangs are still looking for their first win of the season after 15 matchups. Their tough 12-0 defeat to Caruthers on Tuesday might stick with them for a while. Minarets has struggled against Caruthers recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Minarets dropped their record down to 0-15 with that loss, which was their ninth straight on the road. As for Caruthers, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-7.
Minarets will head out on the road to take on Riverdale at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Minarets' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for 15 straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end. As for Caruthers, they will play host again and welcome Liberty, where kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Liberty's last four matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
